Create a New Project with Drag-and-Drop
A SonarWiz Project may be automatically created by “Dragging and Dropping” sonar files into the Map Window of SonarWiz. This method is recommended for users whose project settings change infrequently or for those users that simply wish to see a quick overview of a data set.
Only supported Sonar File types can be dragged and dropped. See SonarWiz 7 Supported File Formats for a complete list of supported Sonar File Types.
Start by opening SonarWiz, then open Windows Explorer and navigate to the directory containing the new files.
To create a new project with drag and drop:
Select the files that are to be added to the new project and drag them to the SonarWiz Map Window. SonarWiz will open the File Drop Action window:
Select to Add File(s) to a new project.
Select the type of data to import (Sidescan, Sub-Bottom, etc.)
Select the files to import.
Click OK.
At this point the Create New Project dialog will open:
Review the Project Name, Project Folder, and Automatically Selected Coordinate system to make sure they are correct.
Click OK
Drag and Drop Limitations
Dragging and Dropping Files into a project (new or existing) does not allow the user to select File Type Specific Options (See File Type Specific Options) meaning the most recent previous settings used by the program will be assigned to these new files.
