Install a patched version of SonarWiz

While troubleshooting a problem, support may issue a patched version of SonarWiz to help customers resolve specific problems. Usually, these patches do not come with a complete installer and are designed to drop into your current SonarWiz folder.

Please make a back up of your Project Folder before attempting to open the project in a patched version of SonarWiz. Patches to SonarWiz are minimally tested and may contain serious bugs that could damage your work.

Instructions

To install a patched version of SonarWiz:

  1. Find you SonarWiz installation directory. The default location is C:\Program Files\Chesapeake Technology\SonarWiz 7

  2. Locate the file SonarWiz_7_x64.exe

  3. Rename the file to SonarWiz_7_x64.exe.backup

  4. Unzip the SonarWiz patch

  5. Copy the new version of SonarWiz_7_x64.exe into your installation folder

  6. Open SonarWiz as normal and test the patch against a copy of your project.

 If the patch is successful, contact CTI Support for instructions about proceeding to use the patched version on real projects.

If the patch is not successful, you can restore the original version of SonarWiz_7_x74.exe
