How to Verify Dongle Driver Installation

The SafeNet Sentinel Advanced Medic (SAM) utility is used to troubleshoot the USB Sentinel Keys used by CTI to copy-protect SonarWiz. SAM 1.3.1 looks for the installed software layers which should be present and looks for the dongle hardware itself. The utility will produce a troubleshooting report that can help diagnose problems in your installation.

Instructions

  1. Download SAM 1.3.1 from the CTI web site.

  2. The file is a self-extracting compressed file. Select an empty folder to unpack the program.

  3. Navigate to the unpacked files and double-click Sam 1.3.1.exe to launch the program.

  4. Select Enable Logging and click the Troubleshoot button.

  5. SAM will run several tests against your computer. If SAM identifies any problems it will pause the diagnostics tests. Click the Acknowledge button to continue the tests.

  6. In a normal SonarWiz installation, you should see a green check mark next to components that pass:

A single-user SonarWiz dongle requires the following 3 tests to pass:

    USB Driver Installation
    Sentinel Driver Communication
    Sentinel Key Communication

Note that the other tests are not required to pass for normal operation of SonarWiz.

  7. SAM will write a log file in the same directory where SAM 1.3.1.exe was launched from. Look for SentinelLog.txt

If any of the 3 critical tests failed to pass in Step 6 above, please share the SentinelLog.txt file with CTI technical support at support@chesapeaketech.com.
