Recovering from Project Loaded Successfully... Infinite Loop on 7.6 Start-up

Problem

Under some conditions, opening an older SonarWiz project in Version 7.06.00 can lead to an error where the program enters an infinite loop on Start-up. You may see a screen that looks like this:

Solution

To fix the problem:

  1. If SonarWiz is still running, from the Taskbar, Right-click the SonarWiz icon and select Close window.

  2. While holding down the “SHIFT” key, launch SonarWiz 7.6 again. This should open SonarWiz 7.6 without trying to load a project.

  3. Open the Advanced Settings menu window by clicking on the green icon in the upper-left part of the titlebar and then selecting Advanced Settings icon.

  4. Uncheck (clear) the box next to Disable bathy draw cache building. This is the cause of the bug, SonarWiz 7.6 must build a new draw cache even for projects that do not contain bathymetry.

Click OK to close the dialog

  5. Now, try to load the project again normally. SonarWiz should complete the loading process without additional issues.

If this procedure does not resolve your problem. Please open a support ticket here and we will help you get up and running as soon as possible.
