A hardware key was not detected or "Unable to find local CTI Dongle"

Problem

If you run SonarWiz and get an error dialog that reads “A hardware key was not detected.” Or, if you run the CTI Dongle Manager, press the READ button and receive the error “Unable to find local CTI dongle: Error 3”. There may be a problem with your USB dongle driver installation.

Solution

Install/Reinstall the stand-alone Sentinel System Driver:

  1. Make sure the USB key is not damaged and is properly seated in the USB slot.

  2. Download the stand-alone Sentinel System Driver Installer 7.6.0 from the CTI web site.

  3. Launch the installer, select Upgrade and accept the license terms.

  4. In the Setup Type screen, select Custom and then click Next.

  5. In the USB System Driver drop-down, select This feature and all sub-features will be installed. Do not install the Parallel Driver, this is not used by SonarWiz.

  6. Click Next and then Install.

  7. When the installation is completed, you will be asked to reboot the machine.

  8. Try to launch SonarWiz or the CTI Dongle Manager again.

If there were any error messages during installation, be sure to screen-capture those
and send them in to support@chesapeaketech.com to let us help resolve the issue.
